FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

It has a rich buttery aroma when you unwrap it. I like the way that they have done their pineapple fillings. Every bite had the pineapple textures. I would suggest tourists can try  out the Gartien Pineapple Cakes. This is another alternative for souvenir to bring home. And it is Penang Made.

Kheng Ping Cafe Part II @ Penang Road, Penang

Since my previous posts did not finished introduced the foods offer by Kheng Pin Cafe, I decided to blog part II. After several visits, finally I have some photos to blog about it. This is one of the places that I will usually bring my visitors for breakfast. As I found that all the foods served in this cafe are very delicious. And I am glad that all of my visitors that been to this cafe is giving a "tumb up" for the foods that they had.
Lor Bak
Usually I will ordered everything each for my visitors to try. That way they have all the combination and be able to taste all sort of stuff offered by this lor bak stall. If you want more photos about this lor bak, pop over to my last post.
Char Koay Tiaw
I love the CKT there as love the wok hei and aroma. If you prefer the CKT to be dry rather than wet, then please give this stall a try. I am sure you will like it.
Fresh Fish Porridge
I am not sure why, I fall in love with the porridge stall too after the first attempt of trying their century egg porridge. This time round, I try out their fresh fish porridge. I like the way that they sprinkle the salted egg in small pieces above the porridge. It make the porridge just the right amount of saltiness.
Chicken ~ Pak Cham Kai
In my last posts, CK remind me of their chicken rice. And since most of the time I only went there during breakfast hour, I always don't have the chance to try out their chicken rice. I told hubby about the recommendation and during one lunch hour, he went with his colleagues to try out the chicken rice. He falls in love with the pak cham kai after he consumed and told me about it whole night. So the next day, he brought my gal and I to try out the chicken rice. He kept asking us to go early as he told us that if we arrived late, the chicken rice might sold off. lol

Chili Sauce
Chicken Rice
That's how I get to have the chicken rice photos taken. The chicken is very tender and nice. For the chicken rice, it has rich chicken aroma in there. Always don't forget to dip on the chili sauce when you consume the chicken. Don't be surprise to see me there during weekend as when hubby think of pak cham kai during lunch time, he will usually come to this cafe. lol

Kheng Pin Cafe @ Penang Road, Penang

During one weekend, we stop by Penang Road again to have something to eat since hubby needs to get something done along Penang Road. So we went to Kheng Pin Cafe to have something to eat. And we order the following foods:
Loh Bak
When you come to Keng Pin Cafe, one thing usually people will order is their loh bak. I remember few years back when I tried loh bak, I fall in love with it as it still stayed very crunchy after some time. ^o^ This time round, hubby orders some squid. And it tastes nice. My gal enjoys it very much as it is very tender. ^o^
Sauces
Century Egg and Pork Porridge
Well..... for me I go for the porridge that day. So I ordered the century egg and pork porridge. And the porridge tastes not bad.
Hokkien Mee
Actually this is suppose to be hubby's order but when this arrived, my gal told my hubby that she wants hokkien mee instead of wantan mee. ^o^ And she enjoys this bowl of hokkien mee even though she comments it is spicy. ^o^
Wantan Mee
Hubby had this and we try this wantan mee before and it tastes nice.

Kafe 78 @ Corner of Jalan Seri Bahari and Penang Road, Penang

Since hubby need to visit one of of the shops in Penang Road, we dropped by the following coffee shop to have our breakfast cum lunch. ^o^
Kafe 78
Location: Corner of Jalan Bahari and Penang Road (Opposite of Kek Seng)
There are lots of food choices in this coffee shop. So we ordered the following food to try:
Sauces for Yong Tao Hu
Yong Tao Hu
This stall located at the corner front of the shop. And you can choose to have your yong tao hu with bee hoon, noodles, tang hoon......... or without. And we opt for the last option as we ordered other foods to try too. And there are lots of choices of yong tao hu. Such as different kinds of fish ball, meat ball, seaweed. lady fingers, bitter gourd, vegetables, chillies.......... I am sure you can find some that suits you.
The soup base is nice as there are lots of deep fried garlic and shallot in the soup. Nice aroma. But I found that the fish ball is a bit too salty for my liking. ^o^
Nasi Lemak
Zoom version of ikan billis and sambal
Curry Chicken
Additional stir fry french beans and potatoes curry
Hubby went around the shop as usual. So he will do all the ordering for us. And I am very easy person as I loves to try out different kind of food. ^o^
Hubby was attracted by this stall nasi lemak with the aroma. And secondly, there are lots of people patronise this stall. So hubby think that it must be good. ^o^ Then he order this plate of Nasi Lemak for me to try. The verdict is........ indeed not bad..... My gal also try it out as it is not too spicy. So for non- spicy lover, you can check out this stall. Apart from the dishes hubby ordered, there are also plenty of choices. Do drop by and check it out yourself.
Wantan Mee
Hubby had this. By the look of the noodle textures, I can know that the noodles taste nice. And I am right, hubby told me that the wantan mee taste good.
Hokkien Mee
oh...... this is off course my gal bowl of hokkien mee. Look not spicy at all, right? As photo taken before added the chillies. This time round, my gal does not want to add the chillies in her bowl of hokkien mee. And she told me it tastes great. Hubby asked me to try the soup base whether it tastes nice according to my gal. So I asked permission from my gal is that ok for me to try and she let me try some. Without the chillies, the soup base is still so sweet and have a nice aroma of prawn. No wonder, she kept digging this bowl of hokkien mee once she starts to having it. ^o^

Ho Ping @ Kampong Malabar, Penang

We have been wanting to try Ho Ping for quite some times but the problem is to get a car park there. But during one weekend, we are so fortunate just to get a car park near Ho Ping in Kampong Malabar.
Ho Ping
It is located @ junction of Kampung Malabar (Japanese Street) and Penang Road.
My main purpose is to try their loh bak as Gill Gill recommend me to try it out when I posted about lor bak last year.
The coffee shop is full of people when we were there. We managed to get a table but hard to find chairs around. ^o^ Anyway.... we were quite lucky to get that sorted out in just a minute. After seating, I asked hubby to order some loh bak first as many people is ordering that. And hubby orders the following:

Bean curd, Spring Roll and Prawn Fritters
When this is being served, I asked hubby where is the loh bak? And he recall that he forgot to order. ^o^ Then he went back to order another plate of loh bak. My gal enjoys the prawn fritters.
Loh Bak
The loh bak is very different from the loh bak I tried before. As this loh bak is very crispy but it is not the same loh bak that I was after. But this loh bak is not bad. I am glad that I make an effort to try it out. ^o^
Sauce
Normally you will get the black colour loh bak sauce and this is in clear colour.
Chili Sauce

Chicken and Char Siew
We saw many people is after the chicken rice and each time I passed by Penang Road, I saw the Chicken Rice stall always full of people. So we give it a try!
The chicken and char siew is very tender.
Soup
The soup is quite nice too.... very mild type though with chinese herbs aroma in it.
Mee Goreng
My gal is after mee goreng. My hubby did not see that another stall is offering fried noodles. As he thought it is only Char Koay Tiaw and also fried rice. We should have ordered from another stall as my gal finds the mee goreng is too spicy for her even hubby asked not to put chillies. ^o^
We would like to try the Char Koay Tiaw, Char Mee and Fried Rice from another stall for our next visit as we cannot resist the aroma.....^o^
