Kedai Kopi Ban Leong Ean 万隆轩茶室 @ Lebuh Armenian, Penang.

Restaurant that we reviewed:

Kedai Kopi Ban Leong Ean 万隆轩茶室
Address: 59 Lebuh Armenian, Penang.

Food that we savour:

Curry Mee
For those who cannot take too spicy food, you can give this curry me a try. It's not too spicy for me. The curry soup base is very tasty with the addition of the chilies paste makes it more flavourable. Generous amount of fresh cockles, cuttlefish and fried tao pok.

Hokkien Mee
Actually we came for the hokkien mee and was surprise to see they do serve curry mee as well. Well, I have the try of the hokkien mee soup base which tastes very flavourable and has a nice prawn aroma. Overall, it's a nice place to have breakfast.

Nam Seng Coffee Shop @ Hutton Lane, Penang.

When talking about the wantan mee at Nam Seng Coffee shop, it reminds me with their sui kow and wantan.
While writing this blog at this hour, I really hope that I can savour it right now.

Restaurant that we reviewed:

Nam Seng Coffee Shop @ Hutton Lane, Penang.
Address: No. 124 Jalan Hutton Lane, Georgetown 10050, Penang, Malaysia.

Food that we savour:

Wantan Mee
The wantan noodle is perfectly cook. I just love the texture of the noodles. Springy textures.
Wantan

Sui Kow (Dumplings)
I kinda fell in love with the Sui Kow very much. The fillings of the Sui Kow is really tasty. There are 4 pieces of Sui Kow in a bowl. They have quite generous in their filling. You can taste the combination of prawn and meat in there.
The Sui Kow is very big though. If not mistaken it cost RM6 for this.
Pan Mee
At this coffee shop, they also sell pan mee. But I still prefer the Sui Kow the most.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Apart from the wantan mee, Sui Kow and pan mee stall. It is also very popular for chicken rice but they would be for lunch hour. As we dine in mostly for the breakfast therefore I will not elaborate more about the chicken rice in this post.
Overall, I would recommend to try for the Sui Kow (dumpling) if you are Sui Kow lover.

Chen Kee Chicken Rice @ Jalan Krokop Utama, Miri.

Thinking of what should we savour next for lunch. Then one of us suggest to have chicken rice.
One funny thing about my princess is that she does not like hicken rice. She always opt for plain rice if the stall has it. If she got no choice, she will just savour the chicken rice as she claimed that it is very oily for her liking.
For my hubby, Pak Cham Kai is his favourite. For me, I have the phobia as when my parents are busy with business during my secondary school days, we will just take away "Hainamese Chicken Rice".

Food that we savour:

Chicken (Pak Chiam Kai)
Hubby reckon that the chicken is very tender and smooth.
Chicken Rice
Steam Tofu - RM5
I would say that the tofu is indeed very smooth and silky.
Herbal Soup - RM6
There are different type of soups. But they only left the ginseng chicken soup. The aroma of the soup is very strong, however the taste of the ginseng is just alright.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, food is consider average to us. But if you would like to give this place a try, you have to be earlier to avoid some if the food sold off especially during lunch hour. The total bill is RM51.50. (Including drinks)

Tokyo Restaurant @ Krokop, Miri.

Apart from the kolo mee and Sarawak laksa, there are lots of food to try out. One of the outings, we were brought to try out:

Food that we savour:

Char Koay Teow with tomato sauce
Actually not many people will accept the taste of Tomata Char Koay Teow with tomato sauce. One of them would be my hubby as he said what is so special with tomato sauce?
Well, I just like the way they stir fry the tomato sauce with Koay Teow. The gravy is something different.
As for this stall, I think they are not putting much of tomato sauce as I can't taste the tomato sauce although the outlook looks like they did. But overall still taste nice.
Kolo Mee
Chau chai vermicelli soup
Hubby is kinda a soup base type of person. Therefore, he opt for the chau chai vermicelli soup. He loves it very much as it is cook with some rice wine and chau chai. Lots of ingredients in the bowl. I would say that it has a nice fragrant aroma and tasty too.
Stir fry chau chai vermicelli
This is another version - which  is dry version. They stir fry it with chau chai. Both soup and dry version has its own flavours. As for me I would prefer the soup base as it suits my liking.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, food was nice and the drink that I order was quite nice too but sorry I did not took any photo. Which is the fresh passion fruits drink.
As for food that we savour, I would recommend you to try their chau chai vermicelli if you love rice wine flavours.

Warung Puteri @ Jalan Sylvia, Miri.

Apart from the afternoon tea break that I blog before, we opt for another place to try their food.
We chose some deep fried chicken wings and assorted deep fried beancurd, sweet potatoes and cucuk udang in front of the coffee shop.
Then we seated and look around that many people ordering mee goreng which  looks very delicious therefore we came up with the following order.

Food that we savour:

Deep Fried Chicken Wings
Long time that I did not have any deep fried chicken wings. Eventhough our home cook meal, we hardly have any deep fried chicken wings on our menu.
This deep fried chicken wings taste very crunchy at the outer part and very tender and juicy.
Assorted deep fried beancurd, cucuk udang and deep fried sweet potatoes.
This platter is also very delicious.
Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin - RM6
While this is being served, my sister and my girl are laughing non-stop as they cannot imagine that their salted fish fried rice is divided into two plates. Fry salted fish with, onion and chilies in one plate and another is just purely fried rice.
The fried rice is very delicious and nice aroma. But the salted fish is too salty for their liking.
Mee Goreng Special - RM5.50

Mee Goreng Mamak Special - RM6

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall the food serves here is very delicious. Both mee goreng special and mee goreng mamak special has a nice aroma and one with beef another with chicken.
If you are not too hungry during afternoon tea, you can try their deep fried chicken wings and assorted deep fried beancurd, cucuk udang and sweet potatoes.

Lao Yang Dim Sum 老杨私房菜点心 @ Jalan Dato Permaisuri, Miri, Sarawak.

The place that I am going to blog is one of the famous places in Miri for dim sum. The patrons seem like never ending while we dine in there. We were lucky to get a table for six of us.
Apart from the dim sum, you can also order food from their menu. But since we opt to try for the dim sum, we did not order any extra apart from the porridge.

Food that we savour:

Char siew pao
Chicken Feet
Siew Mai
Spare ribs
Har Gao
Spring Roll
Chee Cheong Fun
Five grains porridge with century and pork porridge - RM5
Dried vegetables porridge - RM5

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, the dim sum that we tasted were very tasty. The porridge was also very nice and glad that we make a choice to dine in to try out their food. However, I would say, you must try your luck to find a table during the peak hour. The total damage for six of us is RM103.50 which including drinks and GST.

Sarawak Laksa @ Ali Papa Cafe Miri

One of the food that you must savour in Sarawak is of course their Sarawak Laksa. I have been asking around for some nice laksa in Miri, then I was told to try this stall.
As usual, we have to get up early to savour some good food. We wake up pretty early to try out the laksa. When we arrived the place, we still able to get a table to sit.

Food that we savour:

Sarawak Laksa
Although it looks fiery red for the soup base but honestly not that spicy for me. It just the colour will make you think that it is spicy.
I would say it has a nice aroma. Really cannot resist the aroma while taking the photo. After took the photo...... we start savouring the laksa. Overall, it tastes nice. I would say that different people make different type of laksa soup base. It all depends on which soup base that suits you.
Kolo Mee
Kolo Mee is nicely done. Not too soft. Taste vice is ok.

Ayam Penyet Ria @ Miri Waterfront, Miri, Sarawak.

We were brought to try out the Indonesian cuisine at Miri. I was told that there is another restaurant also served this type of food but unfortunately we ran out of time just have the chance to try this restaurant.

Beverages that we ordered :

Hot Teh Tarik and Ice Lemon Tea

Food that we savour:

We ordered few type of foods to share among each other. That way we have the chance to savour various type of foods.
Ayam Bakar with Rice - RM11.30
Basically the chicken is roasted and the chicken is very soft and juicy. It came with sambal, assorted vegetables (kangkung, cucumbers and beancurd) rice and tempeh.
I would say not many people can accept the tempeh. It is actually a soy product made by natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form.
I personally enjoy it very much.
Ayam Penyet with Rice - RM10.30
For ayam penyet set, the chicken is deep fried and served with rice, assorted vegetables (kangkung, cucumbers and beancurd) and sambal.
I find that I quite like their sambal. It might be too spicy for some. Chicken is still tender although it is deep fried.
Tenggiri Penyet Rice - RM14.50
This set is came with deep fried tenggiri  fish, rice,  assorted vegetables (kangkung, cucumbers and beancurd) and sambal..
However, the deep fried tenggiri fish is a bit too tough. I think they over deep fried it as it is very thin.
Rice

Soto Ayam - RM7.30
Apart from the rice set, we decided to try on their soto ayam too. Love the soto ayam soup base and I would say that this is the first to finished among others. It also served with a generous amount of ingredients with vermiceilli.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, this is our first time savouing Indinesian Cuisine in Miri. Which is quite a nice try out. I quite enjoy the food served here.
