Edo Ichi Japanese Cuisine (江户一) @ Island Plaza, Penang.

This is one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in this area. I suggest that if you want to dine in this restaurant, you better make a reservation especially at night and during weekend.
We been to this place for several times and I remembered that we left due to full house and without reservation.

Food that we savour:

Unagi Ishiyaki - RM43
We love this eel fried rice in hot stone. The rice texture at the bottom of the hot stone is a bit crispy and taste delicious. Love the fragrant of the rice. The eel is very deliciously grilled.
Saba Shioyaki - RM19
We oredered this mackerel with salt as one of the dish to try out. It tastes very delicious.
We also tried this during one of our set lunch on one of the visit. It cost RM28 with a bowl of rice, miso soup, cawanzhen, pickles and salads.
Karei No Kimuchi Chige Ko Nabe - RM35
We ordered this hot pot with sole fish and vegetable in Kimuchi paste soup since my aunty loves Kim chi flavours.
My family feel that it is a bit spicy but for me is still acceptable just feel a bit salty to my liking.
The combination of vegetables and fish in the pot is very fresh and delicious.

Yasai Roll - RM19
Then I decided to order vegetables roll with cucumber, avacado, carrot and beetroot.
This vegetables roll is very delicious and tasty. We quite enjoy this compare to the normal sushi roll.

Japanese Pepper

Kamo Shoyu Ramen - RM28
We were suggested to try this duck ramen since we would like to try one ramen. So since it is one of the recommendations, we gave this a try.
The duck slice is very tender and taste delicious. We love the texture of the ramen. It is very springy and not soggy just like the way we love it.
The soup base is very delicious too.

Tori Teba Moto Spicy Age - RM19
This is a bit spicy and salty for my family members. But it has a nice aroma and the chicken is very tender.

FoOd PaRaDiDe verdict:

This is one of the Japanese Resrsurant that we will go back often. Food were delicious and the service is very attentive. At the moment if you hold a parkson card that you are entitle to 10% discount of your bill and you entitle a free ice-cream for RM50 spent.

Hana Cafe @ Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

First intention of Hana Cafe for me is to try their Korean Bingsu. As for my hubby, he is more interested with the Korean Fried Chicken. So we have our purpose and bringing my mother in law and aunty. We visited this place at night.
It was actually quite packed with patrons but managed to get a table for five.
At Hana Cafe, you need to fill in the ordered form and hand in to the counter and make your payment. Then sit down and wait for your food being served.
Then you will being served with the pail of hand glove for the chicken.
Pail of glove
Ready for Korean Fried Chicken

Food that we try:

Korean Fried Chicken (mix) - half chicken RM28 (6 pieces)
Well, I preferred the original Korean fried chicken over the sweet and sour chicken. If you are garlic lover, you will definitely love the sweet and sour chicken. It has a strong aroma of garlic coated on it.
Korean Ramyun noodles Classic - RM12
I had this classic Korean Ramyun noodles. Love the soup base as compared to the Kim Chi Korean Ramyun Noodles. My guess find that both noodles are a bit spicy for their liking. But for me, I did not feel that it was spicy. The noodles are very springy and not too soft. Both Ramyun noodles came with egg, black sesame seed, Kim chi and seaweed.

Korean Ramyun Noodles Kim Chi - RM14

Dessert that we consume:

Korean Bingsu classic - RM12
Actually, we loved red beans very much. That's why we ordered the classic Korean Bingsu to try. Most voted this classic Korean Bingsu over the mango bingsu.

Korean Bingsu mango - RM15
The fresh mangoes are sweet and sour. Some are sweet and some are sour. It's rather appertising.

Beverages

Hana blend tea (hot) - RM6

Edo Ramen @ Gurney Paragon, Malaysia

First of all, I would like to thank my blogger's son and future daughter in law for the treats of the ramen feast.
This is my first time dine into this restaurant @ Lot 163D-1-05 Gurney Paragon, Penang. It is actually quite a good concept. For those who are running out of time and would like yo grab a quick meal rather than fast foods, I believe this would be one of the choices you can try! Their business hour is from 11am to 10pm daily. Contact number: 04- 2260961.
Simple yet straight forward menu

Ultimate Black Ramen - RM17.90
This ramen broth is cook with classic pork bone broth and Japanese Fragrant Fish Powder plus fragrant garlic oil.
If you don't want to opt for less ingredients in your ramen, you can opt for Ultimate Black Ramen.
Miso Ramen - RM10.90
The broth of this ramen is cook with classic pork bone with Japanese soya bean paste. It is a bit different with the normal miso soup.

Tokyo Ramen - RM9.90
Tokyo Ramen is cook with classic chicken with seafood broth. If you want something mild from the menu, perhaps you can try this out.
Spicy Miso - RM2.50
If you give this a try! Their Spicy Miso paste. This is under their add on menu. We have tried this after we taste the original broth of all the ramen above. Actually to me, it is not too spicy at all. Eventually after you add this into the broth, it will have another flavor.
Overall, the ramen were ok as it is not too soft as I don't like my ramen to be soft and soggy. We had hot green tea for the night and it is quite a big cup. I was told that it can be refill some more. Perhaps next time, I would try out their rice and gyoza.
In the meantime, wish all the mummies, "Happy Mother's Day", pamper yourself and enjoy yourself!
My lovely cactus flower bloom in my little garden. Just in time for "Mother's Day"!

Jurin eXpress

Location: Gurney Plaza 170-2-59/60, Penang.
Tel: 04-2277112
Yesterday afternoon, we went down town to collect some documents. After we have done with our things, we drop by Gurney to buy something. And when we passed by Jurin eXpress, hubby told me to stop as he want to have a look. lol Actually in the past few weeks when Jurin eXpress is under renovation, he already told me that he wants to try it when they opened. lol Actually we dine in Jurin few years back when they got an outlet @ Krystal point but back then we did not do any food blog yet. lol
Entrance to Jurin Express
Seasonal promotion - Scallop (RM15.80) and Sashimi (RM13.80)
This is the main reasons after hubby saw this big advertisement make him want to dine in there yesterday. That's why I have to do this review today to share with my readers. Jurin eXpress is having seasonal promotion now for Teppanyaki Scallops and Salmon Sashimi. We asked the waitress when is the promotion ends and she has no idea. So act quick if you want to get this special promotion rate. lol
But I have to remind you that since they just opened on Tuesday, they only got limited choice to choose from their menu. They told us that the menu that we read is just temporary. They will amend it later. lol
Interior and view from Jurin Express

Table setting

Coke

Salmon Sashimi
The salmon sashimi is very fresh. It just melt in your mouth. lol We ordered 2 plates of this as it is really nice and cheap too. lol

Teppanyaki Scallop
Look @ the scallop....... it is quite big. lol and tastes nice too.

Seafood Ramen
Hubby ordered this but it turn out be a bit too spicy for him. lol So end up I am the one who finished most of them. Lucky that I did not ordered any set meal for myself. The ramen tastes ok.

Jurin Express Bento
This is my gal bento set. We were told by the waitress to order the bento set for my gal since she wants unagi. The bento set came with grilled unangi, salads, Japanese pickles,  deep fried dumpling and miso soup.
The deep fried dumpling tastes very good. However the sashimi in the bento set tastes not as good as the salmon sashimi. lol You can see the difference. lol The grilled unangi tastes not bad too.

Miso Soup
My gal loves the miso soup very much. lol
Overall their food is ok and we were very satisfy with their salmon sashimi and teppanyaki scallops. lol
