Moody Cow Cafe @ Transfer Road, Penang.

During one of the weekends tea time, one of my friends reckon that we shall give this place a try. Actually, it's a belated birthday celebration for one of my friends.
Since she would like to have some cakes and a place to catch up, we decided to give this place a try:
Moody Cow Cafe
Address: 170 Transfer Road, Penang.
Business Hour: 11am to 12am everyday
Contact number: +604 - 2262646
Interior Lighting

Counter with menu
That's the menu on the board.
Varieties of cakes & biscuits choice

Drinks that we consume:

Ice Lemon Tea - RM 7
Liquid lunch - RM9
Combination of apple, carrot, celery and cucumber juice.
Water

Cakes that we savour:

Madness Chempedak
Macha Madness with Longan
Overall, if you are a cheesecake lover then I would suggest that you give this cafe a try for their cheesecake. They actually have many different kinds of cheesecake each day. But during our visit, mostly were the Madness Chempedak, Madness Durian, Hybrid and Macha Madness.
We skipped durian flavour's cake as one of my friends is not a durian fan, so we opt for another famous cake - Madness Chempedak. This Madness Chempedak cake has a rich aroma of Chempedak. Chempedak lover you must give this a try!
As for the Macha Madness. It's something different. Macha with Longan. Very rich aroma in Macha.
Warning: Their cheesecake are really rich in aroma and flavour. For three of us, we can't even finished any of the cheesecake. We still left a lot and I need to take away. Back home, my hubby and gal have a try for both cakes, they favour the Madness Chempedak over the Macha Madness.
Actually, I am looking forward to their mangoes flavour but unfortunately at the time of visit they don't have any mangoes flavour. However, they have some interesting flavours cake that with century egg + ikan billis, salted egg and etc.
You can visit their Facebook page for new cakes update. Their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/moodycowpenang/?fref=ts
The cafe is a bit dimmed. That's my first impression. I walked in and was approached by a guy and asked me how many people to dine in? I told him three. Then he asked if I want to order any drink/food first? I told him can I wait for my friends to come first. Then he said yes and let me seated on one of the tables near to the counter. We are quite satisfy with their services. The only drawback is it took quite a long time for the drinks to be served. I think it's because they have many walk in customers for the take away cakes and cookies.

Coffee on the table @ Lebuh Pantai, Penang.

My friend came  over to Penang for the CFAL cycling campaign last month. So after the event she stayed back for another two days to visit some attractions in Penang. Just one day before she left, we had dinner together and after dinner, we decided to visit the popular 3D coffee arts.
Coffee on the table
Location: 164 Lebuh Pantai, 10200 Georgetown, Penang.
Tel: 04 - 2622611
Business Hour: 8:30am to 11pm
************************************
We were greeted by the waiter after we enter shop. He asked us whether we are coming for foods or coffee? I told him just for the coffee. So we were brought to a table and seated down.
The environment vice is quite comfy just that it is quite hot for us as the place that we were seated, they did not on the air conditioned but later they switch it on after more and more people came in.
The waiter gave us the menu and we browsed through the menu. Then we stopped by the 3D coffee section. I did not take any photos of the menu. From memory, they offer the following hot beverages only for the 3D Art:
Cappuccino, Cafe Latte, Cafe Mocha, Vanilla Latte, Hazelnut Latte, Caramel Latte and hot Chocolates.
We were introduced by the waiter to try their cake to go with the coffee and hot chocolate that we ordered. So we decided to share among 3 of us. We ordered the following cheese cake.
Oreo Chocolate Cheese Cake
The desserts looked appealing. It was quite nicely presented. It came with a scoop of ice-cream. By all means sorry for the melting ice-cream as we were busy taking photo plus the environment is a bit hot.
The waiter was kind enough to ask us about their cake. I told him that I would prefer the cake is more chiller. After few minutes later, he came back and told me that I am right, their chiller is set a bit higher on that day.

Cappuccino and Hot Chocolates in 3D Art
Hubby had the Cappuccino with the big fat cat 3D design and whereas I have the hot chocolate with the fish design.
Cafe Mocha
My friend had cafe Mocha with the 3D bunny.
The next two 3D art is belong to the next table. I just snap shot it for fun!

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict: Be patience and wait if you intend to order the 3D art coffee or hot chocolate drink. They take sometime to do the 3D art. If you are in the hurry, I guess that you should skip having the 3D coffee. The services provided for us during our dinning time were nice. At least after I left the comment, they look into it straight away. I think they have room to improve. I will try out their foods in the next visit.

Sarkies Corner @ E & O Hotel, Penang.

It's been quite a long time that I did not blog about Sarkies Corner. The last time I blog about them was few years back, where their's buffet was still at Sarkies Corner. Review can be viewed here. As for now all the buffets were moved to new wings - Sarkies.
Today, I am going to blog about Sarkies Corner. But this time I am going to elaborate more about "The Bakery", Weekend Local Specialties and some of the ala carte menu.

The bakery is just located on your right at the entrance of the Sarkies Corner.

This choc banana cake has a very rich banana flavours. If you are banana lovers, you will love this. The chocolate itself does not really empower the banana flavours. I like the white chocolate coated nuts on top of it. It is very crunchy and nice as well.

Their Tiramisu is a bit special. As the outer part of the Tiramisu is cover with layer sponge cake. The layer sponge cake consists of different spices. Which remind me about the Indonesia layer cake. Something different and special.

The dark choc mousse will attract those who loves dark chocolate. I think I can classify myself as the dark chocolate lover category of person. The chocolate use in this cake is imported from overseas. My gal told me that it is not too bitter nor sweet. She said she loves it. Guess may be can order this for her birthday cake this year.

I was told that their roasted chicken and duck rice are on of their famous best sellers food. After I tried it, indeed I am agreed with them. While writing this post right now, I still cannot forget the chicken and duck meat. It is very tender and juicy. hmm...... perhaps I am going back soon over the weekend to fulfill my wish. Hahahahhahahah.......

I am actually not the popiah fan. But the popiah is quite nice and as for pie tee, it is very crunchy at the outer part and inside it is very juicy. My friends just put all that into their mouth in one go. They said its nice with the combination at one go.

Eté Café @ Lebuh Carnarvon

During one Saturday morning in December 2013, we went down to town to settle something. After everything settle, we decided to find a coffee shop to sit down and catch up with one of my friends that back from overseas.

Since we were just nearby Lebuh Carnarvon, we chose to have some snacks and coffee @ Eté Café. I have seen this cafe from ASTRO - 寫食人生 (Tasteful Life). Basically, this shop is operated by the Taiwanese couple. They learnt their skills from Le Cordon Blue Cooking School. This cafe offers freshly brewed coffee and also cakes and pastry.
Following were the coffee and cakes/pastry/desserts that we ordered for our visit to this shop:
All their coffee were served without sugar nor milk. It just the original tastes of the coffee.

 Golden Mandheling "PAWANI"
Classic Brazil Cerrado TOP
Ice Drip Coffee - RM15
I chose ice drip coffee for a try. Since it's a hot sunny day, a cup of ice drip coffee is just perfect to cheer my day!
 Cheese Raspberry Cake
Out of the three cakes/desserts/pastry, my gal favourites go to this cheese raspberry cake.
 Mille Feuille

Creme Brulee

We were told to save this creme brulee for the coffee. As the coffee does not added any sugar. If you go together with the coffee. It is just a perfect match.

Overall, it's another nice shop to stop by for a cup of coffee. But it is just a very small shop without air condition.
