Hokkien Mee
This is the first time I am trying out the halal version of hokkien mee. Yup, you heard me right, that's my first time savouring halal hokkien mee. From the outlook of the hokkien mee, it's totally the same as the non-halal type of hokkien mee.
The taste vice, it is rather sweet type of hokkien mee even with the chili paste add on to it. I think those who cannot take spicy food would love this bowl of hokkien mee. This bowl of hokkien mee loaded with small prawns, half boiled egg, shredded chicken, crab stick and fish ball.

Koay Teow Soup
They also selling Koay Teow Soup.We ordered the chicken version of koay teow soup. You can order the beef koay teow soup or even mixed chicken and beef. Hubby had this bowl of koay teow soup and I tried some of it.  It has a sweet broth like the hokkien mee. This bowl of koay teow soup also loaded with fish balls, shredded vegetables and chicken. It also served with the chili paste. You can add all the chili paste into the koay teow soup, then it will turn slightly red in colour but not spicy.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

If you would like to try out the hokkien mee and koay teow soup, my advise is to come early. Heard that there are many customers waiting for the owner to open their stall as early as 10am. We were lucky that we have the chance to savour the food on our first visit. As after we finished, we were told that they have sold out and it is just barely 12:40 pm. I am happy to try out both hokkien mee and koay teow soup. We ordered 2 bowl of Hokkien Mee, 1 bowl of Chicken Koay Teow Soup and 1 glass of Ice Mata Kucing cost us RM15.

Just a few footsteps away from the night Koay Teow Th'ng stall, you will reach this Char Hor Fun and Hokkien Char stall.
For the seating wise, it is just along the corridor of the shop house.
You will not miss this place as when you pass by you can smell the nice aroma from the cooking. And you will always see the smoke immerse into the air.

We tried this before while dinning at the Koay Teow Th'ng stall. They eventually sent over. Loves their wok hei. Because of the wok hei, it makes this hokkien char irresistible.

Another nice place for a quick hawker food. I love the hokkien char over the char hor fun but that's only my preference.

 Mushroom  Soup - RM5
The mushroom soup came with a piece of garlic bread. The mushroom soup is filled with lot of mushroom chunks. If you are a mushroom lover you will love the chunky mushrooms inside the creamy mushroom soup.
Wooden House Cafe 木屋咖啡 @ Chew Jetty, Weld Quay, Penang.
 Chicken Pie - RM6
The Chicken Pie should be a new addition to the menu. As when hubby placed his order at the food stall, the owner highly recommended him to try the chicken pie. Well, the chicken pie is not bad and be warned that as the pie is a bit creamy version. If you not really like creamy type of pie, I think you can omit it.
Wooden House Cafe 木屋咖啡 @ Chew Jetty, Weld Quay, Penang.
Chicken Cordon Bleu - RM11
Hubby and I saw the menu list with Chicken Cordon Bleu, both of us were reluctant to order it but my princess was a cheesy type of person. When we told her that it involved cheese, she automatically order that for her dinner.
After she savour half of the chicken, she was telling us whether we would like to have some share of the chicken as she was full. Hahhahaha........

 Chicken Maryland - RM12
Hubby ordered this for his dinner. Well, honestly speaking this plate of Chicken Maryland is loaded with many food in it. Such as Chicken Maryland, sausage, pineapple, vegetables, deep fried banana, ham, garlic bread, coleslaw and french fries. With this portion of food, it just cost RM12 which is I think is quiet cheap. I tried the Chicken Maryland is very tender and juicy. Which I think I will order this in my next visit.

Lamb Chop - RM18
Their lamb chop is grilled and coated with black pepper sauce. Well, both my princess and hubby commented that it has very strong black pepper aroma. The lamb is very tender and juicy.
My plate of lamb chop came with coleslaw, potato wedges, garlic bread, lamb chop and vegetables. I love the potato wedges. It is crispy in the outer part of the wedges and inside is very soft. Yum!

FoOd PaRaDiSe Verdict:

If you like to try some western food, perhaps you can drop by here and try it out. It's another place for hang out with friends. Their price is quiet reasonable with all the quality food being served,

Morning Wantan Mee @ intersection of Lebuh Melayu and Beach Street

I am not too sure whether you have awared of this shop before. Lately, we passed by this place very frequent. I just blogged about the night Koay Teow Th'ng in my last post, here. Which is also the same place that I am going to blog about this post but different owner.

Bascially, we have tried their Wantan Mee and the Koay Teow Bee Hoon Soup.

Wantan Mee
This stall wantan mee is relatively cheap. As nowadays you hardly get a cheap wantan mee like RM2.30 (Small) and RM3 (Big). I brought along my gal on our second visit to try the wantan mee. As we think that she might like it. When we told her that the wantan mee is only RM2.30, she was telling us that this wantan mee is very cheap and lots of ingredients compare to her school canteen selling for RM2 with limited ingredients on it.
Actually I am very particular with the wantan mee that have strong taste of strong alkaline water. But this stall, you don't have to worry much about the alkaline water. The noodles are not too soft either. Just fine texture. The chili paste is very nice. For me, it is in the acceptable range of spiciness.

Koay Teow Bee Hoon Soup
Since they are selling Koay Teow Th'ng and Bee Hoon Th'ng. So we ordered one to try on our first visit. When hubby went for ordering the owner suggest that we should try the combination of Koay Teow and Bee Hoon which she reckoned taste better that way.
Well...... the soup does not have a strong base compares to the night Koay Teow Th'ng stall. So if you like something milder version of the Koay Teow Th'ng perhaps you can give this a try.

Night Time Koay Teow Thn'g Stall at intersection of Lebuh Melayu and Beach Street, Penang.

Have you ever tried the Koay Teow Th'ng at the intersection of Lebuh Melayu and Beach Street? Whenever we passed by this place, we saw most of their tables were occupied.
After the first visit to this stall, we have been kept coming back for the food. Each time we would order something new to tried.
Their operation hour start from 7pm but sometime you need to wait a little bit longer as the owner will need time to set up the stall and get ready the tables and chairs. Their seating areas are just along the road side or at the corridor of the buildings.
Sometime you get the chance to listen to the music played by the nearby temple while eating the bowl of hot Koay Teow th'ng.

Chicken Wings
You have to depend your luck to savour these chicken wings. Actually during one of our visits, hubby saw there are some chicken wings from the stall station. So he ordered it to try. But on the next visit, we were told by the owner that someone had placed the booking.
The chicken wings are very firm but tender. Don't expect it taste so delicious.

Dry Bee Hoon Th'ng
During one occasion, I tried the dry version of bee hoon. Not too bad. If you like dry version you can give this a try.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

My gal and I usually ordered the bee hoon th'ng. My gal usually opts for the thin vermicelli. However, I opt for the thick vermicelli. I still reckon that the soup base of this stall is better to go with thick vermicelli. Hahaha...... But off course that is my opinion. We also like to get some vegetables to go with the soup. The price vice is very reasonable and consider cheap.
