Sin Wan Delight Rojak & Cold Drinks @ Jalan Bintang Jaya 2, 98000 Miri,Sarawak Malaysia.

Well, what should we have during afternoon tea break in Miri, Sarawak? Rather than usual noodles, we have a try on the rojak, mixed deep fried kuih and sotong kangkung.

Food that we savoured:

Cendol
Hubby has this and he is enjoying it. With everything in it. He opt for the evaporate milk instead of the coconut milk.

Ais Kacang Merah
As a lover of red beans, I ought for the pure red beans with evaporate milk.
Ais Jagung
This is just purely "corn" as my daughther just want to have corn and it mixed with evaporate milk rather than coconut milk.

Mixed assorted deep fried kuih
With this platter, we have mixed of assorted kuih such as deep fried sweet potatoes, deep fried beancurd, prawn fritters, deep fried yam and with their special sauce dressing and chillies.

Sotong Kangkung + beancurd
Normally they serve sotong kangkung only but we asked for additional beancurd. This also came with their special dressing.

Rojak
I would say different people make different type of Rojak sauce. This serve a combination of sweet and less spicy sauce with assorted fruits and cucumbers.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, we quiet enjoy the food that serve here. Out of the food served, I prefer the deep fried mixed kuih and sotong kangkung with beancurd. The sauce is a bit sweet for my liking. The price wise is a bit expensive compare to the others.

Restaurant that we reviewed:

Sarkies Corner @ E & O Hotel, Penang.

It's been quite a long time that I did not blog about Sarkies Corner. The last time I blog about them was few years back, where their's buffet was still at Sarkies Corner. Review can be viewed here. As for now all the buffets were moved to new wings - Sarkies.
Today, I am going to blog about Sarkies Corner. But this time I am going to elaborate more about "The Bakery", Weekend Local Specialties and some of the ala carte menu.

SARKIES CORNER - THE BAKERY

The bakery is just located on your right at the entrance of the Sarkies Corner.

Another good news, you get 50% off bakery items from 6pm onwards.
Let me show you what kind of cakes, pastries and muffins that are being served from the pastry counter at THE BAKERY during my visit.

This choc banana cake has a very rich banana flavours. If you are banana lovers, you will love this. The chocolate itself does not really empower the banana flavours. I like the white chocolate coated nuts on top of it. It is very crunchy and nice as well.

Their Tiramisu is a bit special. As the outer part of the Tiramisu is cover with layer sponge cake. The layer sponge cake consists of different spices. Which remind me about the Indonesia layer cake. Something different and special.

The dark choc mousse will attract those who loves dark chocolate. I think I can classify myself as the dark chocolate lover category of person. The chocolate use in this cake is imported from overseas. My gal told me that it is not too bitter nor sweet. She said she loves it. Guess may be can order this for her birthday cake this year.

I am actually not the popiah fan. But the popiah is quite nice and as for pie tee, it is very crunchy at the outer part and inside it is very juicy. My friends just put all that into their mouth in one go. They said its nice with the combination at one go.

Laksa Kelang Lama, Kulim, Kedah.

Few days before the review of Noodle Station, a bunch of bloggers already suggested a makan trip after the review. There are many suggestion such as Lunas Duck, Pan Mee, Curry Mee, Chai Kuih, Laksa and Ais Kacang. But after the review, we found that the Lunas Duck already closed. So they decided to go for laksa and ais kacang. While reaching at the laksa place we noticed that the chai kuih stall was closed. Heard many comments that the chai kuih are nice. But will try that out next time.
For this time round, let me share with you the laksa and ais kacang that we had in

Laksa Kelang Lama, Kulim.
Business Hour: 11.00am -6.00pm (Closed on Monday)
Tel: 04-4904935

Laksa
I am not a real fans of laksa. But I do take laksa whenever I feel like having it. The laksa being served here is totally different with Penang Laksa. This one is more towards sourness. Whereas Penang Laksa is more towards sweetness. People such as my MIL and my hubby aunt does not like Penang Laksa. Whenever they came to Penang, they will complaint that Penang Laksa is not nice. ^-^ I guessed they grew up to love only sourish kind of laksa. This laksa would suit their taste buds. Jian was so fascinating with the laksa noodles that served in this stall as she never try such springy laksa noodles before. But to me, I always eat this type of laksa noodles in my hubby home town. ^-^
The price of small laksa is RM 2.40 and big one for RM2.80. And if you want only the soup, which cost RM1.20.

Ikan Billis Cracker
Would you like to have some crackers to go with the laksa. This is one of the specialty here. And I quite enjoying the cracker. lol Each piece of cracker cost RM0.20.

Ais Kacang
This shop ais kacang is strongly recommend by Allen and Allie. Both A's love it very much. And I agree with them though as you hardly get super fine ice shave. And with the combination of all the ingredients and also top with syrup and condense milk. Give it a try next time when you are in Kulim.
You can also try out the Chai Kuih that I mentioned early in this posts which is not open on the day we visit. It is just next door to the laksa shop. ^-^

Ais Kacang @ Sungai Petani

Location: Sungai Petani Old Bus terminal ~ Stall No. 19
I remembered few years back when I visited SP, hubby already brought me to this ice-kacang stall. Back then it is full of peoples but right now more youngsters prefer to have their ice-kacang in a better and cosy environnment like shopping centre. lol
However, we still go to this stall whenever we want to have ice-kacang or ice blended red bean. The next door stall has been interviewed by the TV programme called "Ho Ciak". My hubby families prefer this stall then the next door stall. :P

Stall No. 19 Gerai Lim

Ice blended red bean
I fall in love with this ice blended red bean when I first tried it. The ice bleneded red bean is very thick and it is topping with milo on top of the ice blended red bean. I tried many ice - blended red bean b4 but still I love this stall. Their ice-blended corn drink is also very nice.
Ais Kacang
Hubby and his aunt had this. And they seem to enjoy it very much.

Rojak
This stall also serves rojak. And we order a small plate. The two little gals also enjoy eating the rojak very much.
That's the end of our food hunt in SP. As for dinner, my MIL cooks us a fabulous dinner. lol
