Edo Ichi Japanese Cuisine (江户一) @ Island Plaza, Penang.

This is one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in this area. I suggest that if you want to dine in this restaurant, you better make a reservation especially at night and during weekend.
We been to this place for several times and I remembered that we left due to full house and without reservation.

Food that we savour:

Unagi Ishiyaki - RM43
We love this eel fried rice in hot stone. The rice texture at the bottom of the hot stone is a bit crispy and taste delicious. Love the fragrant of the rice. The eel is very deliciously grilled.
Saba Shioyaki - RM19
We oredered this mackerel with salt as one of the dish to try out. It tastes very delicious.
We also tried this during one of our set lunch on one of the visit. It cost RM28 with a bowl of rice, miso soup, cawanzhen, pickles and salads.
Karei No Kimuchi Chige Ko Nabe - RM35
We ordered this hot pot with sole fish and vegetable in Kimuchi paste soup since my aunty loves Kim chi flavours.
My family feel that it is a bit spicy but for me is still acceptable just feel a bit salty to my liking.
The combination of vegetables and fish in the pot is very fresh and delicious.

Yasai Roll - RM19
Then I decided to order vegetables roll with cucumber, avacado, carrot and beetroot.
This vegetables roll is very delicious and tasty. We quite enjoy this compare to the normal sushi roll.

Japanese Pepper

Kamo Shoyu Ramen - RM28
We were suggested to try this duck ramen since we would like to try one ramen. So since it is one of the recommendations, we gave this a try.
The duck slice is very tender and taste delicious. We love the texture of the ramen. It is very springy and not soggy just like the way we love it.
The soup base is very delicious too.

Tori Teba Moto Spicy Age - RM19
This is a bit spicy and salty for my family members. But it has a nice aroma and the chicken is very tender.

FoOd PaRaDiDe verdict:

This is one of the Japanese Resrsurant that we will go back often. Food were delicious and the service is very attentive. At the moment if you hold a parkson card that you are entitle to 10% discount of your bill and you entitle a free ice-cream for RM50 spent.

Koay Teow Th'ng at Kedai Kopi Tong Hoe, Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Penang.

During one early outing with hubby, we stopped by Jalan Kuala Kangsar to park our car. Early morning usually is quite hard to get car park since morning market just few foot steps away.
Apparently we want to go to savour other food but after we parked our car, I spotted the following coffee shop and was amaze by the full house customer.  Well, normally you saw many people in a eatery shop, either food were awesome or the price is relatively cheap.

Chicken wings with beansprout

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict :

The Koay Teow soup base is a bit different from the other stall. I feel that their broth got duck aroma in it. If you love duck very much then this is certainly a place for you to visit. Guess how much is the total cost for the above meal? We order 1 bowl of Koay Teow Th'ng (Big Serving), 1 bowl of Koay Teow Mee (Big Serving) and 1 plate of chicken wings with beansprout?
The total amount is just cost us RM10.

Night Time Koay Teow Thn'g Stall at intersection of Lebuh Melayu and Beach Street, Penang.

Have you ever tried the Koay Teow Th'ng at the intersection of Lebuh Melayu and Beach Street? Whenever we passed by this place, we saw most of their tables were occupied.
After the first visit to this stall, we have been kept coming back for the food. Each time we would order something new to tried.
Their operation hour start from 7pm but sometime you need to wait a little bit longer as the owner will need time to set up the stall and get ready the tables and chairs. Their seating areas are just along the road side or at the corridor of the buildings.
Sometime you get the chance to listen to the music played by the nearby temple while eating the bowl of hot Koay Teow th'ng.

Chicken Wings
You have to depend your luck to savour these chicken wings. Actually during one of our visits, hubby saw there are some chicken wings from the stall station. So he ordered it to try. But on the next visit, we were told by the owner that someone had placed the booking.
The chicken wings are very firm but tender. Don't expect it taste so delicious.

Dry Bee Hoon Th'ng
During one occasion, I tried the dry version of bee hoon. Not too bad. If you like dry version you can give this a try.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

My gal and I usually ordered the bee hoon th'ng. My gal usually opts for the thin vermicelli. However, I opt for the thick vermicelli. I still reckon that the soup base of this stall is better to go with thick vermicelli. Hahaha...... But off course that is my opinion. We also like to get some vegetables to go with the soup. The price vice is very reasonable and consider cheap.
