Genting Coffee Shop Part 1 @ Island Glades, Penang

This place is not a strangers to any one in Penang. As many floggers have blog about this place before. I decide to blog about this place in two parts. First, the lunch session and later the breakfast. ^-^
What can you get in Genting Coffee Shop during lunch time? I would say there are lot of choices to choose from.
Pork Leg Rice
Hubby always tell me that the rice is very popular and nice. He always pestering me to try this out. So one day, both of us decide to try this out! As I don't really like my rice to cover with very wet sauces. Lucky that this stall did not cover too much. Perhaps, hubby told him not to put too much sauces on my plate of rice. I would actually prefer to separate the sauce in a small bowl though. ^-^
Pork leg is very tender..... and tastes not bad for me. But I don't think that I can eat this all the time.
Hokkien Mee
Hubby ordered this for him. And he told me for a change, he went for instant noodles instead of the yellow noodles. He reckon that it tastes ok with instant noodles.
Curry Mee
My sister and I order this immediately after we had our seat. As sometime, it is hard to get a seat in this coffee shop. It is always full of people during lunch hour. And we are the lucky two as the last two bowls are the last. The next customers when and order were told that they have "sold off". This is the first time I try their curry mee. Hubby told me many times that the curry mee is not bad but have not had the chance to try it.
At first by the look of the curry noodles when being served, the appearance does not attract my attention at all. But since I ordered it, I have to finished it. So I start to tuck in after the photo shot. Hmm..... not bad wor.... after mix everything. That's my first comment on the curry mee. I finished everything and my sister like it too. But we missed our curry mee stall which no longer in operation. ^-^
Stir fry big fat noodles
Hubby order this for every one to share. And my mum comments that it is a bit tasteless. ^-^ It is quite a simple noodles just stir fry with some soya sauce but my sister and hubby loves the noodles textures.

Char Koay Teow
If you like a dry version type of CKT, you can give this stall a try! As the CKT tastes not bad. The "wok hei" is there and the prawn uses are fresh. I been to some CKT stall and some of the prawns used are not fresh. ^-^
Chee Cheong Fun
This is the highlight of this coffee shop. Many customers are flocking into this shop just to go for the CCF. And many from outstation. Usually, you will see customers waiting by the stalls just to wait for the take away.
Few months ago, my gal is so addicted with CCF. And every Saturday, you will see my hubby went there to take away for our little princess. She loves to tuck in her favorites CCF after her Art Class every week as her Snack. This been going on for many weeks. At last, one day she told her daddy that she would like to stop having CCF for a change. Phew..... just a release for hubby and I as we no longer need to travel to and fro. lol
But all of us enjoy having this CCF for long long time. Even my MIL always mention about this stall CCF when she craving for one. ^-^ The textures of the CCF is nice and loves the sauces.

The CCF looks plain.
Anything added inside it?
If not, then the sauce must be the one that makes the difference.

Apple Foodees - The CCF is plain. Nothing inside. Yup, it is the sauce that makes the difference. ^-^

Angie - I must say all the foods there are nice. I will try the pasembor next time. Thanks for sharing!

Waco - Yes.... got all the unhealthy stuff. Once in a while should be ok. ^-^

worldwindows - I am not too sure about that though. But you can always come and try it out and tell me whether it is similar. ^-^

DessertObessed - Thanks for dropping by! The CCF is make of rice flour and water. Then the sauces use here is combination of sweet sauce. ^-^ But the sauce uses are differ from every stall. Some salty and some sweets.

I enjoy the Pork Leg rice here but truth be told, it is nowhere near the original ones you can find on the streets of BKK. But I suppose we make do with what we have in Penang huh? The CCF in Genting is the BEST!!

550ml jar of faith @minchow - A lots of people agree that the best CCF in Penang is in Genting Coffee Shop. lol

I like CCF so much too!!! but genting ccf make me feel too salty, only once i try out there, that's all.
if u would like to try out nice CCF,maybe u can try at Bayan Baru morning market food court. there is a stall just beside wan tan mee stall. the source is nice and not too sweet and salty. the sweet source & prawn paste had already mixed up with something to reduce the sweet taste & salt taste, but increase fragrance lol. and also the chili...yummy .....^^
the wantan mee beside is also very nice, the wantan is quite fresh.i use to order only the fried wantan with soup. ...
