Song River Bah Kut Teh @ Gurney Drive, Penang

During one weekend in February. We are thinking what to have for our breakfast in town area? Then we passed through Gurney Drive and hubby suggested that we try
Song River Bah Kut Teh
Location: 65 Persiaran Gurney, 10250 Georgetown.
Tel: 012-4088345
Since we never try the foods before, we decided to give it a try. ^o^
And since it is a cooling morning, we decided to order:

Bah Kut Teh
Well.... from the pictures, you can clearly see that their soup base is quite clear compare to the other bak kut teh. The tastes is a bit milder and you will hardly smell the Chinese herbs aroma. Which is quite good for people who don't like the herbs aroma.
Actually, when I am watching some cooking programme, I learn from the shows that the good bah kut teh soup base is very clear and no Chinese herbs aroma. ^o^ But I guessed it is up to individual tastes bud, right?
Claypot Fish Meat Bee Hoon Soup
We also ordered another fish meat bee hoon Soup to try. And my gal loves it very much. And she and my hubby finished the whole bowl. Lucky that I get to savour some before they finished. ^o^ However, I feel that the bee hoon is too soft for my liking. The fish meat is ok.
Stir fry french beans
The auntie took our order asked if we would like to have some vegetables. So hubby ordered one of these as my gal loves french beans a lot. And the tastes is very nice and off course my little gal ate most of this dish. lol
Overall..... the foods are not bad.

I'm used to having the dark coloured bah kut teh and it's the herbs aroma that gives the flavour. Haven't had the clear soup version yet though. I think you're right when you say that the good bah kut teh soup base is very clear.

I am a big fan of Klang Bah Ku Teh and have never try any dry Bah Ku Teh outside Klang. Is the Dry Bah Ku Teh from this shop good?

SimpleGirl - yes.... I also like the Klang BKT. ^o^

Becklee - I learn that from a TV programme ~ the good bah kut teh soup base is clear. But I think it is up to individual taste bud. As some cannot take the strong herbal aroma. So this clear type of bah kut teh would suits them.

soo sean - I did not try the dry bah kut teh from this shop before.
