New Dragon Gate Seafood Village @ Tanjung Bungah.

We have been to this place twice and yet I never blogged about this place before. It is located at No. 515A Jalan CM Hashim, Tanjung Tokong, 11200 Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
Contact number: 604-8982722/ 012-5217277
It is just slightly behind Viva Food Court and next to Sentral Seaview Hotel.

Food that we savour:

During our two visits, we ordered different food to try:
Spring cabbage with preserved Vegetables - RM18
I did not try kailan with preserved vegetables (Mui Choy) before. The combination of the two vegetables are well blend together. Something different to try out.
Pork ribs with grape sauce - RM25

Assorted tofu with abalone sauce - RM25
Have tried this duo tofu before when we dined in at Bali Hai Seafood. My family members love it very much. The tofu are very soft. This plate of tofu gone within few minutes.
Curry fish slice - RM30
Curry was very fragrant and nice in aroma. The fish was very fresh.
Nonya style steam fish - RM48
We chose snapper fish for the Nonya style. This is what we order for our second visit. We love this Nonya style snapper fish. The fish is very fresh and the sauce is very nice to go with rice. Would recommend you to try this.
Stir fried eggs with bittergourd - RM12
I am glad that I ordered this dish for a try. As all of us love it very much. The egg was stir fried to just perfect. Not over cooked or undercooked. If you love bittergourd with egg, give this a try!
Glass noodle and Bee Hoon - RM6
The combination of this stir fry glass noodle and bee hoon was quite nice.
Duo dish chicken - RM30
This is the combination dish. One with the grape sauce and another one which we quite love it. The texture is like fish cake but more firmer. I reckon you to give it a try if you love fish ball textures.

Desserts that we consume:

Complimentary jelly

THE BARN @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

During one of our visits to Gurney Plaza, we decided to try out "THE BARN" which it is located at GP-170-G-43. Contact number: 04-2290967.
We have total of six persons dine in during our visit. After we browsing through the menu, all of my guests and hubby knew what to order except me. So I ask for some suggestion from the waiter and he suggest to me to take THE BARN famous pork ribs which they claimed it to be one of the famous dishes. Actually he did suggest me beef but I am not taking any beef so I opt for the ribs.
Before I elaborate more towards the food, let me brief you with the interior. Restaurant is fill with different kind of wines. The interior lighting is a bit like place for a drink.

Beverages that we consume:

However, we did not order any alchohol but we opt for for some coffee instead:
Cappuccino
Ice Latte

Food that we consume:

Caramelised roasted pork burger - RM27.26
One of my guests is having this and she claimed that the roast pork burger was nice.
The BARN famous pork pizza - RM32.90
Hubby opt for the pizza and decided to order the famous pizza from the house. Hubby did not quite enjoyed the pizza as he is not used to the cheese that used.
Crispy Pork Spaghetti - RM31.02
My gal is having this and she had the difficulty with the crispy pork as she claimed that it is a bit too tough on the crispy part of the pork.
Crispy Pork Penne - RM31.02
BBQ baby back pork ribs - RM55.46
At the end my sister in law and I were having this. As the one she ordered was out of stock. She reckon that the pork ribs she had is a bit tough and had difficulty cutting it.
However mine is not too bad but I would agree that the pork ribs are slightly too dry to our likings.
Actually before ordered this ribs I did asked the waiter how big was the serve and I was told that it is for one person. It is actually good for 2 persons I think. If we knew the serve is that big we could had share. Luckily, my hubby helped out with the ribs.
Overall, the services are very attentive. Whoever finished their food, the waiter or waitress will come to clear your plates and drinks.

Goh Thew Chik Hainan Chicken Rice @ Chulia Street, Penang.

There are many shops selling chicken rice at Penang. This shop that I am going to blog is one of the famous Hainan Chicken Rices in Penang - Goh Thew Chik Cafe.
The food choices they are offering are very straight forward. They will always ask you whether you opt for black, white or both? We chose both as we have couple of people dine in on that day. It is full house on the time we dine in. Luckily, we dont have to wait too long for the food to be served.
Steam Chicken
Roasted Chicken
Chili sauce
Chicken rice
Complimentary cabbage soup
Overall, we enjoyed the chicken rice very much. The rice itself is very fragrant and we prefer the steam chicken over the roasted chicken as it is very smooth and tender.
If you would like to try their chicken rice, you can pop over to
338-A & B, Chulia Street, Georgetown, Penang.
