Chen Kee Chicken Rice @ Jalan Krokop Utama, Miri.

Thinking of what should we savour next for lunch. Then one of us suggest to have chicken rice.
One funny thing about my princess is that she does not like hicken rice. She always opt for plain rice if the stall has it. If she got no choice, she will just savour the chicken rice as she claimed that it is very oily for her liking.
For my hubby, Pak Cham Kai is his favourite. For me, I have the phobia as when my parents are busy with business during my secondary school days, we will just take away "Hainamese Chicken Rice".

Food that we savour:

Chicken (Pak Chiam Kai)
Hubby reckon that the chicken is very tender and smooth.
Chicken Rice
Steam Tofu - RM5
I would say that the tofu is indeed very smooth and silky.
Herbal Soup - RM6
There are different type of soups. But they only left the ginseng chicken soup. The aroma of the soup is very strong, however the taste of the ginseng is just alright.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

Overall, food is consider average to us. But if you would like to give this place a try, you have to be earlier to avoid some if the food sold off especially during lunch hour. The total bill is RM51.50. (Including drinks)

Restaurant that we reviewed:

Chen Kee Cafe
Lot 2122 Krokop Lorong 10, 98000 Miri, Sarawak.

Hoe Kee Chicken Rice @ Jalan Hang Hebat, Malacca.

The second day in Malacca, we visited Jonker Street and spent our time visiting the nearby attractions. Since some of my peers never tried the famous chicken rice balls before. So we decided to stop by Hoe Kee Chicken Rice. Well, since it is a public holiday cum school holiday plus it was weekend. Imagine the queue.
The other famous chicken rice shop also have a long queue near the bridge. Since those who never tried before, they don't mind to wait for the long queue.

Food that we savour:

Food that we ordered
Assam Fish Head - RM27
One of our peers is not really fancy of chicken, so we ordered Assam fish head for her. And of course we get to savour it as well. It's a bit spicy for my peers. The fish head is fresh and they love the assam gravy.
Stir fry Beijing Cabbage - RM5
Chicken, chicken livers, chicken giblets and cucumbers for 4 persons serve
I would said that they are very generous with their serving. Actually, we had 5 persons dinning but we opt for 4 persons serving as we ordered Assam fish head. And it just cost us RM28 for this big chicken platter.
The chicken is very tender and soft. So as to the chicken livers and giblets.
Chicken Rice Balls
There are about 15 chicken rice balls. Which cost us RM4.50. So it's about RM0.30 per chicken rice ball. Overall, we still prefer their loose rice over their chicken rice balls.

FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict:

The shop is very clean. The service is very attentive and systematic. They will take your order while you line up. As for the food vice, we still prefer the chicken loose rice over the chicken balls. Love the tender chicken textures and also the chicken livers and giblets.

Koay Teow Thn'g @ Lebuh Clarke, Penang

It's been quite a while that we did not patronise this stall. When you live in food paradise state guess there are too many choices to choose from and you tend to forget some of the foods that you use to patronise. That's what I always think of myself. lol

This place is not stranger to most of the food bloggers. As most of them have blog about this place in the past. I just recalled that I never blog about this. So in my last visit to this shop, I decided to take some photos of the foods and blog about this place.

I still remembered that when we first visited this place. It was hubby ex-colleagued who told hubby about this place. And we searched high and low. Then we came across this stall after we parked our car. lol We usually parked our car along Argyll Road. Then walked across to this stall.

We ordered the following foods for our late breakfast:

Pak Cham Kai with bean sprouts

Since hubby are the great fans of "Pak Cham Kai", he never failed to order one plate of this to go with the KTT. I always enjoy the bean sprouts when it was coated with the fried onion oil and sauces. Their chickens are not too bad.

Koay Teow Thn'g

Each of us ordered a KTT. Including my gal. As she enjoys the soup base very much. And now she started to like koay teow. As previously she will opt for bee hoon (vermicelli) only. Guess she grown up a bit now. ^-^ In the KTT, there are various type of balls ~ such as fish ball and meat ball. And in various size too. It is hard to get so many different types of ball in KTT. And one of their specialty would be:

Meat Ball

This is one of their specialties. Honestly speaking, I did not really like it. But it is very moist. However, hubby loves this very much and usually we will gave him this piece if treasure to him. As both my gal and I found that the meat ball has a very strong aroma. ^-^

Yee Sun Kai Chok @ Cintra Street, Penang

Hubby and I have been wanted to try out the Cintra Street Yee Sin Kai Chok for quite sometime. But since my gal don't like porridge since baby, we did not have the chance to try it out. Not until one night when my gal was too full to consume anything since she had a late afternoon tea that day. So we have the opportunity to savour the hot pipping Yee Sun Lai Chok.
This stall operate quite late. When we arrived there about 8pm, we just saw the stall owner busy preparing the ingredients and just about to start operation. I heard and saw many floggers blog about this place before and heard many rumours about the stall owner attitude. And I am quite worry about it too. As I am the one went there to order. hahahhaha..... my heart was just pounding......pounding very fast when I am walking towards the stall....... ^-^
Out of surprise, I did not get scolded. I just do my order and run...... ^-^ All I know is to place your order and don't repeat your order again unless she asked you. As she did not reply me when I make my order. I assume that she got what I meant. I think she will get annoyed if you keep repeating your order as what the other customer did in front of me. ^-^
I ordered Chicken porridge, Yee Sun porridge and also a plate of pak cham kai.

Chicken Porridge
I opt for the chicken porridge as hubby go for Yee Sun porridge. My bowl of chicken porridge has a very nice aroma. And I can't wait to try it after I finished snapping the photos. Inside the porridge there are some thinly sliced ginger and also chicken chunks. Apart from that there are also some sprinkle of spring onion, lettuce, you tiaw and pepper. I found that they are too generous in sprinkle pepper in my bowl of chicken porridge.
The chicken porridge taste nice even without the pepper itself. ^-^

Yee Sun Porridge
Hubby opts for yee sun porridge (fish porridge). Hubby commented that the fish is very fresh and the porridge is rich in flavour.

Pak Cham Kai
Hubby is the fans of pak cham kai. And every where he went and saw this dish, he will usually order it and try. Hubby and my gal complained to me that I should order a big served of pak cham kai for them. lol As they enjoyed it very much.
My gal cannot stop having the pak cham kai once she first tested the first bite of it. As it is very tender and succulent. My gal hate to bite something very hard and this suits her taste buds. I think she is the one who finished this plate of pak cham kai. Hubby and I make fun of her where she told us that she not going to take anything there. And she gave us a mischievous smile. ^-^

Just before we left the shop, I quickly snapped a photo to show you the stall along the road side. It is very easy to locate if they operate. As some time they have some rest. We been there for few times last year after the 1st visit and found that was not open perhaps the stall owner went for holiday. ^-^
