ZEST BAR CAFE MENU

ZEST BAR CAFE @ Glow by Zinc
MIANG KAM
Betel Leaves, Coconut, Dried Shrimps, Red Onions, Peanuts, Ginger & Chilli
FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict: Many years back if you asked me to have miang kam, I would probably skip but years came by and I started to like taking it.  If you cannot take the betel leaves aroma, I think you will not enjoy this dish.

ZEST BAR CAFE @ Glow by Zinc
TOM KHA GAI - RM12
Siam chicken soup with galangal coconut cream & local spices
ZEST BAR CAFE @ Glow by Zinc
TOM YAM GOONG - RM18
Fresh prawn in spicy Tom Yam Soup
FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict: For me, personally I prefer Tom Yam Goong over Tom Kha Gai. As the later are full of coconut flavour. If the tom yum is a bit more spicy it would be superb.

Green curry with coconut and thai basil leaf.
Choice: Chicken or Prawn.
FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict: Their green curry chicken is quite nice. ZEST BAR CAFE @ Glow by Zinc

Thai Garden Restaurant & Pub

During one outing, hubby is asking us what shall we have for dinner. And all of sudden, we kept quiet as cannot think of what we want. Then hubby suggest that we go for Thai foods. As we noticed a Thai restaurant along Light Street few months ago. Since there are no objection from my gal, we head down to town.
Restaurant address and contact numbers. For map location, please view
here.
Outside of Thai Garden Restaurant & Pub
Today Special Menu and the business hour is from 11am till late night. (Open daily)
Interior of Thai Garden Restaurant & Pub. When we about to enter this shop, I notice that it is also a pub. Then I asked my hubby whether our little gal can go in or not. ^-^ Then hubby told me, one way to find out is to go in and see. lol So...... we were greeted by the waiter there and they lead us to the sitting area. You have to passed through their pub area then will lead you to the sitting area as above photo.
Table setting
Home Made Cocktail - Cranberry Juice
Homemade cocktail - Mango
Claypot Glass Noodles ~ RM16
This is the only dish that we ordered that are not spicy among the others. ^-^ And the noodles are nice but a bit too salty for our liking. There are many prawns in there but sorry I just realised that I did not took a photos of it. The mini claypot is very cute and nice. It's just like "masak-masak" that my gal plays. ^-^
Tom Yam Gong ~ RM14.50
Ah.....off course have to order some tom yam gong to try when we are dining in the Thai restaurant right? So, we ordered and try. The verdict is, I think I am the only one who finished the soup. ^-^ Both hubby and my gal found it is very spicy. However, my hubby can't stop himself to sip on the soup even he found it spicy as he loves it very much. He is so "tam chiak". lol Honestly, there are lots of ingredients and herbs in there. I don't mind to have it all by myself. *o*

Prawn with pineapple with special curry ~ RM16
Since we saw this on the today special menu while on our way into this shop, we decide to order it since my gal loves pineapple very much. This is not as spicy as the Tom Yang Gong but my gal still find it a bit spicy for her. But she loves it very much.
Gaeng Kieow Waan ~ RM16
My gal wants to order some green curry to try. But it turns out to be very spicy for her. She told me that she loves the flavours very much. There are lots of herbs in this green curry. And the aroma is very nice. Furthermore, the chicken is very tender.
If you like to try some Thai Food, you can drop by and give it a try. The service is very attentive. I noticed that there are quite numbers of people patronise this shop when I dine in there. And some seems like their regular customers.

ATAWOO Thai Restaurant @ Jalan Trengganu, Penang

During one weekend, hubby and my gal wanted to have some spicy foods for dinner. So they decided to have "Thai Food". Then hubby chose to go
ATAWOO Thai Restaurant
which located @ 80-S Trengganu Road, 10460 Georgetown, Penang.
(Opposite LYE LYE Food Court)
Business Hour: 11am to 3pm, 5 to 10pm
Contact: 017-4898142 (Ms. Ong)
Map Location
Ms. Ong is a very friendly person, you can call her to book for reservation especially during weekend. The restaurant have two part ~ air conditioning and non air conditioning. If you want to have air conditioning seat, please be there early or else you have to seat outside. ^o^
And for the night we ordered:
Deep Fried Squid
My gal and I enjoyed having this very much. The squid is so crispy and yet delicious. ^o^ The squid is so tender and fresh too.
White Tom Yam Seafood's Soup
While I am busy taking photos of other dishes, hubby and gal try this white tom yam seafood's soup. After their first sip........ my gal and hubby cant stand the spiciness...... ^o^ My gal expression is so funny.
According to Ms Ong, the white tom yam will be less spicy compare to other tom yam. And the tom yam has a very rich aroma of lemon grass, chili padi, dried chili.........
Inside the bowl of tom yam seafood's, you will find prawn, squids, fish fillet, mushrooms, slice of carrots, tomatoes and........
Since they find this soup spicy and I am the one who finished most of this. Although it is spicy for hubby but he still loves the soup and he have 2 bowl of this soup.
Stir fry vegetables
Lucky that they have this dishes which is non spicy apart from the deep fried squid. ^o^
Bean curd with Thai chili sauce

Green Curry Chicken
This is the first dish to arrive. We asked our gal which curry she prefers, red or green and she chose the later. When this arrived, she starts to dig in. But after the first spoon...... she told us that it is spicy.... but nice...... ^o^ She is like having one scoop of curry and follow up by many spoon full of rices. ^o^
So at the end I think I am the one who ate all the spicy foods. Then I asked them whether next time they would like to have any "Thai Foods"? And both of them told me.... "why not?" ^o^

Song Yen Seafood @ Sungai Nibong

As usual, we go out to search for new area to have our dinner, we decided to go for chu char. And we found this new place. The stall is located slightly opposite to Hai Nan HomeCook Chinese Restaurant @ Lebuh Nipah 5, Sungai Nibong.
We noticed this place few weeks ago when we went to had our lunch at Hai Nan HomeCook Restaurant (will post the review later). This chu char stall offers varieties of Chinese and Siamese style of cooking.
There are only a food stall and coffee shop operates at night.
The business hours start from 6pm -11pm and they closed on every Monday.
Song Yen Seafood
Since this is our first time of visit, we asked for recommendation. And the auntie recommends us:

Seafood Green Curry
You can either have just mainly fish slice with green curry or seafood curry. And we opt for seafood green curry. And since my gal loves curry recently. We order green curry for her to try. lol The curry is a bit too spicy for my gal and hubby but they love it.
There are lots of herbs in the curry and furthermore, there are lots of ingredients in there such as prawn, squids, fresh fish slice, long beans, fresh tomatoes, onion........
Their seafood is very fresh and tastes nice. lol

Stir Fry Cauliflower

Siam Pig Trotter
This is highly recommended by the auntie. So we give it a try. This is the first dish being served for the night. And when the dish being served, the aroma is unbeatable. hahhaha....... but poor hubby and my gal have to wait for me to take few shot of the photos b4 they can savour it.
The pig trotter skin is very crunchy. And the meat is very tender. All of us love it very much.
And we highly recommend this dish. lol
Auntie recommends us to come back and try their Siam bean curd and otak-otak being served in coconut as she told us that it is very delicious too.
We want to share this wonderful place with all of you as the foods being served are delicious and the price is very reasonable. The bill for the night is only RM35.60 + 3 white rice.
