RESTORAN TOP D'GURUN @ GURUN Jalan Raya, Kedah.

Last week, since it's a school holiday we decided to drop by Gunung Jerai for a visit as the last trip we went there was many years ago. Before we went up to Gunung Jerai, we passed by this restaurant and saw lots of people patronizing this shop. We decided to stop by for our late lunch at this shop.

When we patronizing this shop there are still lots of customers but the food were limited to choose from and they still cooked it from their open kitchen. So we just grabbed whatever choices available as following:
RESTORAN TOP D'GURUN @ GURUN Jalan Raya, Kedah.
Deep Fried assorted fishes
Their fried fishes are very tasty. I like their textures. Some places they will over cooked their fishes but this place their fishes just nicely cooked. Give it a try if you happen to drop by.

 Curry Fish Head
Their curry fish head is another good try. Their curry gravy is very good to go with the rice. Most importantly the fish itself is very fresh.

Deep Fried Chicken Drumstick
When we about to finish the our meal, their deep fried chicken were just ready from their wok. So we decided to give it a try, And it tastes nice although from my first instinct when i looked at the chicken drumstick, I told myself hmm..... this must be overcooked but out of surprised when I had my first bites its very crispy from the outer layer and juicy interior part of the drumstick.
FoOd PaRaDiSe verdict: Good that we stopped by to try this place. The people in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Foods were nice and delicious. Price vice, it is very reasonable. We had all the above plus three plates of rice, we paid total of RM30.70.

Roti Canai @ Transfer Road, Penang

Every time I passed by Transfer Road, I always saw many people in this roti canai stall. Sometime, I even saw people standing along the road side to wait for their seat. And we were told by our friends and colleagues that the roti canai served in Transfer Road is very nice. Hubby and I were waiting for the right time to try this stall. And during one weekday when hubby on leave, we went there in the morning to grab some bites on the roti canai.
Since we went there during weekday and is around 8am++, so we managed to get a seat. While we were seated, there come a guy asking for our drink order and I ordered

Ice Tea
while I forgot what hubby ordered. Then came another guy who took roti canai order. Both of us order roti telur each and we were told that they have 2 types of curry gravy and we ordered both.
Curry Chicken Gravy
Hubby had this curry chicken gravy and we were surprise to see that it came with a big piece of chicken. And hubby told me that the chicken tastes nice and very tender. I don't have the opportunity to taste the chicken as hubby gobbles everything before I start to had mine. Guess he enjoyed his breakfast very much. ^-^
Mutton Curry
I go for the mutton curry. The mutton is not as tender as i thought it would be. As hubby told me that the chicken curry is very tender. It is still a bit hard in some part of the mutton. The curry is nice and has a nice balance of aroma.
Roti Telur
From the look of the photos, you should be able to see that the roti telur that we had is very crispy. I like crispy roti telur or just plain roti to go with the curry gravy is so fantastic.
Closed up version of Roti Telur
Saw the thin layer and crispiness of the roti telur? While writing this in the morning, makes me want to have this roti telur right now. Yum! Yum!

Restoran Pen Mutiara

Actually we intend to cook yesterday night. But we felt so tired. So we decided to go out for dinner. At first we intend to go for chu char. But on the way out, hubby felt like having curry. And he recalled that he never brought me to Restoran Pen Mutiara before. Hubby used to go to this place quite often, he told us about the claypot curry fish head. So I asked my gal whether she wanted to have curry (as recently she like to try spicy foods. lol) and she said yes. So we headed to Restoran Pen Mutiara @
Entrance

This restaurant is very big in size and the interior look grand. They claimed that they can accommodate up to 300 people with air condition environment.

Our order of the day........

Claypot Curry Fish Head
This is a must try from this restaurant as it is their signature dish. lol The curry fish head tastes good and the fish head is very fresh. My gal eats lots of the curry sauce. At first she tells me it is a little spicy and the more she consumes, she told me it is very spicy. lol
Since it is in claypot, the fish head still hot after we finished our meal.

Fried Egg with Onions
The egg tastes really nice even though is a simple dish. It has a nice aroma but we found it a bit too salty towards our liking.

Deep Fried Squids
Well..... a bit disappointed with the deep fried squids as it is not so crispy and the squids is a bit too tough to bite. lol

If you visit this restaurant, you should try their claypot curry fish head which is good and tastes delicious.
