My Verdict of this Pineapple Cakes: This is my first time tasting the Gartien Pineapple Cakes. When I unwrap the pineapple cake wrapping, the buttery aroma fills the air. The pineapple fillings is quite interesting compares to others. As you can get the pure bites of the pineapple textures.

Kedai Makan Dan Minum WEN CHANG 文昌海南鸡饭 @ Lebuh Cintra, Penang

During one of the trips to town to settle our things. We decided to stop by Wen Chang for a quick lunch.
Kedai Makan Dan Minum Wen Chang @ Lebuh Cintra
This is not a stranger place for most of the Penang. As it is quite a famous place for chicken rice.

Roast and Hainan White Chicken
We ordered two different types of chicken. Hubby loves Hainan White chicken very much. He loves that compares to the roast chicken though.

Soup  of the Day

Hainan White Chicken

Lor Bak and Tau Kua
We ordered extra side dishes to go with our lunch. The lor bak was nice though. Like the firmness of the lor bak.

Chili Sauce
For me, a good chili sauce is very important when easting a chicken rice. >><

White Rice
Overall, it's a nice place to dine in for a quick lunch. But do come in early before the crowd or else you have to wait for certain time. We were lucky to beat the lunch crowd.

Restoran Soon Mooi @ Sungai Petani, Kedah

We used to dine in this coffee shop with my hubby family during the weekend when we went back for a visit. And usually it will be a full house. We need two tables to accomodate all the people. And sometime we will order our foods first while waiting for our seats.
Usually most of the family members will order either one of the following foods for their breakfast:
Wantan Mee
The noodles are nice as it has it springy textures. My gal enjoys the deep fried wantan. ^-^
Special Mantou
Usually we will order few plates of this for our add on breakfast. We loves it as the mantou is soft and warm and the inside fillings are deep fried with ingredients.

98th Birthday Dinner Celebration @ Jade Garden, Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Another birthday celebration for hubby's grandma. This year she turns 98th. We have few tables of celebration at Jade Garden this year.
Following were some of the dishes for this year celebration:
Five different  hot plates
Bean Sprouts for the shark fin soup
Shark Fin Soup
Shark Fin Soup with the bean sprout
This have to pre-order. The purpose of the bean sprout is for you to add into the shark fin soup. This year every one get to serve in the small bowl as this year is just a small celebration only few tables.
Suckling Pig
Was disappointed with the suckling pig this time as the pig as it is too fatty and not very crunchy. Most importantly, it has a very strong aroma. :P
Black Pepper Prawn
This is one of the usual dishes prepared by the restaurant.
Steam Promfret
This year, we had normal steam promfret. As previously always had the Teo Chew style Promfret.
Noodles with prawn, squids, vegetables and pork slice
Well, it was told that it is a must for a birthday celebration dinner to have noodles. This is something different from the previous few years. The noodles itself is springy and the tastes vice were nice.
Deep Fried Tapioca
Deep Fried Tapioca
Dessert of the day
Had two different type of desserts this year. Well, I still preferred the other dessert that we used to order previously than this year dessert. :P
Overall, this year birthday dinner I think was not as good as previous birthday celebration dinner. Prior to this birthday celebration, we dine in there for usual lunch. I think that lunch is much more better than this. Will try to post that some other days. Sometime simple meals are better than an expensive meal, don't you think?

Bee Hooi Cafe @ Pulau Tikus, Penang

It's been long time that we did not visit Bee Hooi Cafe. While we were at town during one weekend, hubby suggested we dine in Bee Hooi Cafe. After browse through Hokkien Mee, Satay, Lor Mee, Char Koay Teow, Sar Hor Fun, Tom Yam Soup, Fried Rice...............
End up three of us chose to have tom yam and bee hoon soup. Viola....... following were the food that we ordered:

Tom Yam Bee Hoon Soup
It has a nice aroma. The colour of the tom yam is a different from the normal tom yam soup that we usually had. The colour is a bit lighter colour compared to the bright red. But don't think that it is not spicy at all! My hubby ordered this for himself. But after few sip of the tom yam soup, he started to tell me....... argh.... quite spicy. While waiting for the bee hoon soup to be served, I told him that I will exchange with him as I cannot resist the aroma of tom yam with the lemon grass and ginger flower.
Wow..... this tom yam bee hoon soup consisted of slice lady fingers, fresh grouper fish, mint leaves, bee hoon and also fresh mushroom. I start and enjoying the tom yam bee hoon soup. Eat the fish and bee hoon. Sip some tom yam soup. After a while, my gal asked me, "Mummy, spicy is it? ". I told her.... "Nope..... still ok.". Then she said, "Then why your face turn red and you are sweating?" Hahhahahhaha.........
Well.... the tom yam bee hoon soup is quite nice. The grouper meat is fresh and overall quite enjoy it although a bit too spicy for me at the end. :P
Deep Fried Fish Meat Bee Hoon
This stall served grouper meat. My gal chose to have it deep fried. Although the stall owner warned her that it had some bones on the fish. She insisted that she would like to have that. The deep fried fish is nice after it was immersed in the soup for quite some time. Still very tasty.
The deep fried fish meat bee hoon consisted of deep fried grouper meat, bean curd, bee hoon and vegetables. Sprinkle with some spring onion and coriander leaf.
Fresh Fish Bee Hoon
At the end hubby had this. He loves grouper very much and he commented that the grouper he had is fresh. He finished it very fast. The fresh fish bee hoon consist of fresh grouper, bean curd, bee hoon and vegetables. Sprinkle with some spring onion and coriander leaf.

Lunarich Pizza and Pasta @ One Precinct, Bayan Baru, Penang.

One of the weekend dinner, we decided to stop by to Lunarich @ One Precinct, Bayan Baru, Penang. Actually I did not knew that Lunarich is franchise originated from South Korea when I dine in Lunarich. But after the meal, I read from one of the articles from "The Star".
Anyway, we ordered the following for our dinner:
Cappuccino
Stewart's Key Lime Soda
 Ice Mocha
After some discussion, we ordered the following appetiser:

Appetiser
I forgot the name of the appetiser  PS suggested that we ordered this for our appetiser  The rocket were a bit bitter. Hubby and my gal ate only one each. Actually the nice rocket will actually bring out the favour of the above appetiser.
 Margherita Pizza
Actually to taste whether it is a nice pizza or not? Usually we would order the most simple pizza to taste. Therefore Margherita pizza. Actually we had high hope for the pizza as we saw that they are using the Italian style pizza oven. The tastes of the pizza were just average for our liking. With the price, it is acceptable for an Italian restaurant.
 Spaghetti Aglio e Olio Pepperoncino
 Spaghetti Al Pomodora
Spaghetti alla Pescatore (tomato sauce)

 Spaghetti al Nero di Sepia
They also offered some set lunch. You can give it a try.
